Hello,
Maven is an interesting beast to deal with. I guess that Ivy is some
kind of compromise... keep your ant files, but have Maven download the
dependencies for you.
What you mentioned is a problem if dependencies are stored in some
non-standard repository. But if we put our stuff in ibilio or something
stable like that, the artifacts should be there until the end of the
universe.
