If this is what we decide, I'm happy to maintain them on the web site,
assign TR numbers, etc. I don't have a strong opinion whether they
should be hosted here or at Oxford. Weren't there issues with Oxford
having all sorts of restrictive rules about running a web site?

One thing I would recommend against is making them into official
McGill or Oxford tech reports, maintained by the department, because
departments have a habit of messing things up. McGill keeps changing the
URL of its tech reports (without even putting up a redirect), which is
very annoying when there are references to them. Also, it's a lot of
work to get a TR number out of them. Keeping things under our control
makes everything much easier.
