We have two members who should be officially added to the abc
mailing list, and who should be given access to the abc CVS
code base. Their e-mail is in the cc list of this message. Can
the abc guys at Oxford please add them, and let them know how
they can access the CVS code based.
James worked on an inliner for the around weaver for his 621 project
last term, and Alim has build the continuation-based around weaver
for his ugrad 400 project last term.
James has been working on a M.Sc. project in measuring the performance
bottlenecks in abc, and one such bottleneck is the around weaver. He
will be working on refactoring the around weaver to improve performance
and to make it easier for us to select from a bunch of different
around weavers, automatically picking the best weaver for each
around advice.
Alim will be working on understanding the most recent version of the
around weaver that Sascha built while we were working in the final
version of the PLDI paper, and then integrating his continuation-based
weaver into the CVS code base.
Alim, James and I will push forward on the proposed CC paper and
we will circulate results as they become available. We would also
like to know which others would like to join us in this project.
Sascha, we know you are busy, but we hope you will be available to
answer questions and Alim and James understand the current
around weaver.
James and Alim. Please note that the abc mailing list is just our
own private mailing list and should not be exposed to the outside
world by including it in any external messages.
Cheers, Laurie
