[abc] abc release

Hi,

As you probably know, we're planning a 1.1.1 release with the TM optims,
and a 1.2.0 after we come back from the conferences.

I have made things ready for releasing, and the main things that remain
undone are the CHANGELOG entry and the release announcement.

Please take a look at ./CHANGELOG in the abc cvs root. I've made a stab
at mentioning some of the changes since 1.1.0; either update that file
in-place or (if you're not sure how to) reply to this email with
suggestions.

Similarly, if someone more diplomatic than me feels like writing a
release announcement, that would be very welcome.

I will do the actual release sometime this evening, so please make any
changes or suggestions before then.
