Grammar for URLs

Hi:

   I'm done with dates, but now i'm working on URLs.

   Does someone have a grammar for valdating a URL. I
just don't want to reinvent the wheel. You know how
easy is to come out with some new buggy grammar. It's
a waste of time every time a programmer does the same
things others have done before.
