I agree this would be useful, but I don't know of anyone working on
it. In fact, even the XML output code is not being maintained, as its
original author is no longer working on Soot, and I don't believe we
even have a precise specification of the XML format that it outputs.

Of course, if someone were working on this, it would be very useful. I
think the first step of such a project would be clearly defining and
specifying the format of Jimple in XML.
