As for how it will affect the paper -- not substantially. I think the
optimisations I'm looking at now are hardly worth describing, at least
until they have proven their worth convincingly -- which, as I said,
hasn't quite happened yet. I expect the numbers in the table at the end
of section 5 will change somewhat, since I can produce more favourable
numbers on my current machine, but apart from that I don't think I'll
have to add much to the paper or change it.
