Re: [abc-users] getting started questions

Thanks Eric, this is actually very helpful.
1- I'm running ant within eclipse, and the first project (abc) got built successfully, using build.xml, I just copied ant.settings.template into a new file ant.settings and without editing anything it went through. Do I also need to run ant using ( build-abc, build-exer1, build exer2) I tried to do that and it errored out for not finding classes.
2- I tried to run ANT on the second project (abc-ja) with the appropriate build.xml, and copied ant.settings.template into ant.settings, but I keep getting this error: "Please copy ant.settings.template to ant.settings and customise if necessary..." I tried editing ant.settings file with fully qualified paths, but I'm still getting the same error.
Please advise.
Thank you,

H Irenee.

Yes that sounds like a correct setup.

Keep in mind that you cannot build abc using eclipse entirely: abc depends on many classes that need to be *generated*. This can only be done by running the appropriate build.xml ANT scripts in the different project directories. Every such file comes with an ant.settings file that you need to configure.

Hope that helps,

Currently I have abc-1.3.0, on my local drive, as my workspace, and I'm importing existing projects (the different projects: abc, abc-ja, abc-ja-exts, Java1.4Frontend, Java1.4Backend, Java1.5Backend, and libs)  into workspace, is this correct?
