i'm happy to participate --if there's room left.  specifically i can add 
the java_getopt to process the command tool options, since i already use it 
in the cryptix-asn1 kit.

i can also test the release with the asn1 kit as a medium-size project 
using SableCC --it's already using the 2.17.2 release.
