I think it's good. I have a few minor things that could be fixed, but
it's OK too if they aren't.

I'd remove "Essentially" from the sentence "Essentially a numeric ID is
used to record...".

I'd change "primitively typed values" to "values of primitive type".

I'd consider separating them into sections (cflow, around, etc.), but
you've probably got them in chronological order of implementation, which
makes sense too, and I can see that some would be hard to categorize.

I'd spell optimization with a 'z' :-)
